History: The Journal of the Historical Association is seeking to commission “State of the Field” articles on a broad range of topics.
Our state of the field articles provides an introduction to a wide variety of topics and are intended as an accessible synthesis of work on a particular field of study. You can read our open access State of the Field articles here.
As a journal with a broad geographical and chronological focus, we welcome submissions on a wide variety of topics. We are particularly keen to receive submissions in the following broad areas: environmental history and/or the history of climate change; Indigenous histories; African history; and Latin American history.
Scholars should send a 500 word summary of their intended State of the Field article to Dr Jennifer Davey, Editor in Chief (Jennifer.davey@uea.ac.uk). Proposals for the requested topics will be reviewed after Friday 13 January and general submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The call is open to all scholars, but we would particularly like to encourage ECR scholars to submit proposals.
